Dr. Colleen Kragen
My passion for emergency planning and training began when I was on active duty in the U.S. Navy. In 2013 I left Norfolk and moved back to the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I earned my M.S. in Emergency Management in 2016. I worked in occupational safety and health with school districts for nearly three years and I have over six years of experience in the field of emergency management. I have worked with counties, tribes, school districts, small businesses, and special government districts throughout Washington State and across the country.
In March, 2023 I completed my Doctor of Emergency Management (DEM) degree. My final study focused on a program evaluation of a Washington State school district's emergency management program, in order to develop an all-hazards emergency management program model for all US K-12 school districts. As a result of the study and degree, I developed an Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) template for school districts. Through my varied background, I bring a holistic and comprehensive safety and emergency preparedness approach to all my projects. You also might see my two rescue kitties, Chai and Latte, make an appearance during video calls or meetings!
